I’m trying to find that still quiet place within myself. 

I have fleeting moments of it. Glimpses of how that state could be. I haven’t been there before, but I yearn for it. And in that I have realized why part of D/s appeals so greatly. When you reach a certain point of it, with the right partner, you go beyond thought, beyond anything and simply are. Either side of the dynamic works that way. I understand now more what I hungered for so in my wanting for surrender to someone. 

Now I am learning how to surrender to myself. Surrender into myself, letting go of thoughts, of concerns… of everything. Until I simply stop… and be. 

It’s difficult. I caught myself in yoga tonight thinking about budget and salaries and job stress. Inhaled deeply and mentally pictured pushing it all away. It’s an art, that pushing away of everything non essential, and it’s hard, so hard to declutter the mind. But I will learn how, and I will do it for myself long before I do such for another person. 

It takes strength to surrender fully. It takes clarity and centering. I’m learning those, finding them invaluable to my every day living, the fact that it will deepen my submission is a perk, but not the only factor. And thus, my desire to learn how to do that is even deeper, more profound, built upon by all of me, instead of merely part.
